Remember Me?

Hey Guys... It's been a very long while this time... :p
I've given birth to a very cute baby girl on October 16, 2006. Her name is Freya Malaika Samantha Lumunon. You can take a look at her at http://freyamalaika.multiply.com

Sorry, but I don't think I can write in this journal as often as I'd like because being a mom really absorbs my energy.

To Chandra, just in case you missed my offline message at YM, I've received the huge package. :) Thank you so much and please thank Ashleigh for me.

And to all of you out there, Happy (early) Holidays!

32 Weeks And Counting

gold
Sorry, life has been very busy lately.
I'm now 32-week pregnant. 8 more weeks to go... *doki-doki*

Quick Update

gold
Hey, it's me.
Yea, it's been a while.
I'm 11-week pregnant.
Last week I spent 3 days in the hospital due to hyperemesis.
And now I eat like a pi.. er... normal pregnant woman.

:D

The Big Three-Oh

gold
How many of you guys remembered that it was my birthday yesterday? Hmm... I can hear several "oops" coming out from you. But never you mind... Since it was also Idul Adha (and that means a national holiday), people tend to forget yesterday's date. As for me, I was very very busy packing my things because I was going to move out the next day (that's today) and I didn't even feel as if I was having my birthday yesterday even though 30 is not a small number (the "oops" you just heard came out from my mouth, by the way). It's really not fair! So, I'll tell you what. Since 30 is somewhat a milestone, I'm going to extend my birthday for 30 days! ;)

And the Bear Exercises...

gold
I went yoga this morning. Ha! Didn't think I'd really do it, did you? :D Among other things, what motivates me is I already paid for the 3-month beginner's course. My class is on every Saturday, 10 am, at Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre. Thank God by next week I will already be in Mampang, so I could wake up later than today and manage to get there on time.

Since today was the first session, the teacher (Mr. Singh) explained about the principles of Yoga and the differences between many Yogas we have today. It took up almost 30 minutes and the rest 30 minutes we finally started to bend and flex our muscles. Frankly, the hardest part hasn't yet begun. I may be chubby, but I'm quite flexible from years of ballet lessons. But there were certain moves I couldn't do perfectly anymore, and it irritated me. Blame my "B-shaped" stomach for that! Humph! X-(

All in all, it's a good way to start 2006, don't you think? Getting up early, exercising, taking a bus ride home with minimum sweat, eating brunch, and getting another shower before the clock even struck noon! Watch out! This little bear is determined to get healthy! ;)

Cases: Solved

gold
Happy New Year everyone! :) Made any resolutions? Broken one of your own resolutions yet? :D

I'm glad 2005 ended superbly. We (C-Choir) sang at Sari Pan Pacific's lobby party on New Year's Eve and, despite the lousy sound system, it was a blast! I almost lost my voice by the end of the last song due to intensive (and excessive) practice hours before the performance. But we made it anyway. The cheering crowd made us happy, but knowing that we did it for a good cause made us even happier. One case solved.

After that some of us went to Cosmo Blast at La Piazza, Kelapa Gading. Free tickets! ;) Unfortunately my hubby and I picked the wrong route, so we were stuck for almost 30 minutes near Patung Pak Tani; fumes everywhere and the cheerful sound of the trumpets filled the night air. We got to La Piazza just minutes before the countdown and we watched the 2-minute fireworks from outside the arena. It was nice, though the loud cracking sounds sometimes made me want to duck for cover.

We didn't stay long at the party. My feet were aching from the previous dance moves. So at about 1 am we went home. Now imagine the distance from Kelapa Gading (North Jakarta) to Pondok Pinang (South Jakarta). By the time we got to Gatot Subroto, I couldn't stand sitting on the motorcycle anymore. So we took a detour to Mampang, to my parents' home-sweet-home. Thank God my Mom was still awake by the time we got there (nearly 2 in the morning) because my sister was still out at her boyfriend's. Getting off my shoes never felt that wonderful... We ended up staying the night there, and the next day I kept dozing off that we finally did get home at 11 pm, January 1, 2006.

Because of that long day, I developed a cold and a tickly cough. Great. Just when I planned to pack my stuff and get ready to move out... But we managed to put some of our books into 3 carton boxes (more books to pack!) and I've started to clear out the space at my side of the bed (which was full of bags-papers-bills-books-magazines-incense sticks-whatever you can imagine)--still a long way to finish the whole deal--and fill an entire bag with my handbags. I only left ONE big-enough handbag to survive this week. Next would be shoes. My God! This is even more exhausting than the performance!

Case #2 was solved 2 days ago. Remember the house in Cirendeu? Well, after all the fuss, we decided not to move there after all. The price they offered was still too high, PLUS we didn't even have the money. Soooo, we're moving [back] to my parents'. So much for independence, huh? It's a good thing they built an extension to the old house so we can stay there for a while (let's see how long a "while" really is...) and have our own privacy (let's see how private our own privacy is...). We actually have to get out of the house by January 11, but the owner agreed to give us more time, so we're going to move out--for good, snick-snick, remind me to take pics--on January 14. Goodbye zip code 12310 and all the convenience within! :(

But I'm glad these things were finally solved. I noticed that I lost 1 kg and I didn't get my period for 13 days. Most probably because of the stress I pretended not having. :D Now that the hardest part is over, let's hope everything goes well in the next few days...

Dear Santa,

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

Last Saturday I set [info]lonneren's puppy on fire (-66 points). In April I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-135 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

One Desperate House Wife

hyde
The thing is, we have to move out of our house by early January next year. And the truth is, we have nothing on our list and still not enough money for rent. Around June, my colleague offered me to move to the house she was renting. She said she was going to move back in to her parents' since they have a little baby to take care of. I was delighted. The house is located in Cirendeu and it's in a lot better condition than our current house. And the rent is only a couple millions more expensive than ours. It was some dream come true. But yeah, such thing is sometimes too good to be true. 2 weeks ago I was asking said friend about the down payment when the truth revealed. She had decided to rent the house again and forgot to tell me. OK. I know, it's a big "D'UH!" But well, I know my friend very well and I know she didn't mean to trouble me. Yet, I'm troubled now because I was hanging on to her words and now I have nothing to hang on to. There's this house up the street where I live and it's for rent. But aside from the lack of time I have to actually visit the house and ask around, there's another problem.

You see, these past months I spent a lot of money for my health problems; from those damn flu to typhus and from pregnancy to miscarriage. I have spent my entire health allowance from my office and since I didn't get hospitalized, my insurance doesn't cover them. It all happened when the magazine my hubby worked for was shut down, resulting him to look for another job. They gave him 2-month compensation, but still, because they paid it a month later and my hubby didn't get another job until very recently, we had to use half the money for monthly expenses. Our saving for the new rent is far from adequate, and it freaks me out. I'm planning to finish my translation very soon so I can get some extra to cover the need. I may have to use my Christmas bonus (if any, I hope so), too. Sorry, kids, no Santa Claus this year...

Oh, I hate money. But being a housewife means I have to deal with it every single day. What bills to pay, which bills to pay first and foremost, the savings balance, the most economic toilet tissue to get, etc., etc. The most ironic thing is when I need a getaway from all this, I still need money.
